Direct your own animated film in 3 days!
During this fun and creative 3 day workshop you will begin by learning the skills of stopframe animation, with lots of hands on activities, where you become the director.
You will use these skills and learn more advanced techniques, as you: build your own scenes with Lego; learn about composition, framing and camera angles; change frame rates for smoother animations; explore how lighting effects the mood; and even create hand drawn 2D animations!
On the final day you get to use all of these new skills and take control – getting to plan and produce your own animated film! You will also learn how to edit your animations, add voice-overs, sound effects and music: so you have a completed film ready to share with your families at a special screening on the final afternoon!
No experience is necessary as you can go from a beginner to an animation pro in this 3 day workshop! If you have attended one of Jamie’s very popular stopframe animation workshops before, this is a much more in-depth and advanced course and will take your animation skills to another level!
The animation workshop is led by local director and educator Jamie McDine.
Don’t forget to bring a packed lunch & water bottle!

Wednesday 19th, 10am – 2pm
Thursday 20th, 10am – 2pm
Friday 21st, 10am – 3pm
On the afternoon of the 21st, you’ll be invited to see all of the wonderful animations on the big screen!
