This month saw a major milestone on the project with external scaffolding being removed & the completion of:
- slate roofing works
- acoustic and thermal upgrades
- lead gutter and valley details
- stone repairs and restoration to the exterior
- stained glass window repairs and replacements
- The building is now fully watertight ready for internal works to progress
Thank you to everyone for your patience while Park Road was closed to allow:
- stone repairs to be completed
- downpipes to be unblocked and decorated
- the new power cable installed from the substation
Demolition works are complete around the new lift shaft and kitchen, and building the new lift shaft has commenced in blockwork.
Internally, works have been progressing well with new openings formed and builders work complete for the install of new mechanical and electrical services.
Mechanical and electrical containment works are ongoing with first fix copper pipe, ductwork Fire Alarm and Data cabling complete within the basement.
On the ground floor, wall chasing has been carried out, services installed within the walls and painting has commenced.
New plaster repairs are being carried out and skimming over new block walls.
Ceilings are being decorated before electrical containment can be installed.
In the Great Hall, acoustic boarding is complete to improve the sound absorption within the room. The existing trusses and purlins are being decorated, and the acoustic boarding is being painted. Electrical containment within the hall has also been installed.
